There is no doubt that the summer time is the busiest for any solar company. As the temperature starts to rise and we see more of the beautiful Perth sun, we also start to increase our energy usage.
Air-con, fans, watering systems, all start to make an appearance around October/November. Because of this, we see an increase in enquiries as the smarter ones get in before the summer months are here and you’ve just been hit with that huge summer power bill.
When you install solar, you want to make sure you’re using it to its full potential. If you’re at work in the day, cool your house during these hours so you can come home to a cool house. Set your washing machine to work, and pool pumps at this time too.
These small tactics can end up saving you thousands throughout the year.
Each year we have a large number of enquiries after the new year all the way through to February, after receiving their over the top sized energy bills and have finally decided to take action. The issue is that they procrastinated for so long, they wasted hundreds of dollars and didn’t benefit from the most profitable months of the year.
Secondly, Jan 1st is the drop of the government incentive. Every year, the value of the rebate drops in order to meet capacity. Meaning an increase in the cost of a system.
What we highly recommend, (this comes from the last 10 years of seeing the same pattern), is that you start to get the ball rolling in the calm before the storm. This will allow you the time to do your research on products, installation companies & budgets. Check out this article on report on choosing the right company (ABC Report).
You can have the system installed, and start to manipulate your power usage to get the most out of your system. Then, by the time the summer is here (less than 2 months from now), you will be set and ready to avoid those crazy high bills.
